Forward
Together

As the child of undocumented parents, I witnessed firsthand the struggles immigrant families face every day. I grew up in Union City, went to these schools, shopped at these stores, and watched working families get pushed out by rising rents and rising prices.

I pursued my education so I could come back and serve this community more effectively — not just as a neighbor, but as an advocate with a seat at the table.

"Quien No Vive Para Servir, No Sirve Para Vivir."
He who does not live to serve, does not deserve to live.

My name is Victor Daniel Lopez Pulido, and Union City has been my home my entire life. My story is one that many families in District 2 can relate to — a story of immigrant parents working hard to give their children opportunities they never had.

As the child of undocumented parents who migrated from Mexico, I witnessed firsthand the struggles and sacrifices that immigrant families make every day. My parents worked tirelessly to provide for our family, often facing barriers and challenges without a voice in the systems that affected their lives. These experiences shaped who I am and instilled in me a deep commitment to service.

I became a first-generation college graduate, earning my B.A. from the University of Arizona and my M.S. from USC. Now, I'm completing my Law degree at USF School of Law. I didn't pursue this education to leave Union City behind — I pursued it so I could come back and serve my community more effectively.

Throughout my journey, I've stayed connected to Union City through service: Chair of the Human Relations Commission, Board Member of Centro de Servicios, active member of the Alameda County Democratic Party, and Faith Formation Instructor at Corpus Christi / Our Lady of the Rosary Parish. Union City gave me everything — now it's time to give back.
